At the 2019 Best of NAIOP Awards ceremony, Wadsworth Development Group in partnership with Accelerated Development Services were winners of the Retail Project of the Year. The event honors the year’s most successful projects, companies, and individuals within the commercial real estate industry.
The team won for the Crossing at Sahuarita, a grocery-anchored shopping center of 104,444 square feet located in Sahuarita, Arizona. This is the first grocery-anchored center to be built in Sahuarita in the last decade. The team put together an impressive line-up of national tenants with Sprouts Farmers Market as the anchor, and PetSmart, TJ Maxx and Beall’s Outlet occupying junior anchor positions, and Starbuck’s and Chipotle occupying pad buildings.
“The economic development department for the town was extremely helpful and receptive throughout the entire planning and construction process, which helped us keep the tight deadlines for each of the tenants,” said Robert Booth, Project Manager for Wadsworth Development Group.
“We are pleased our project received this prestigious award,” said Trey Eakin Senior Vice President of Accelerated Development Services. “The entire project was built and had the first tenant’s grand opening within one year of its inception. The coordination between the town, our contractors, leasing team and development team was critical to the success and timing of the entire project,” he added.
Velocity Retail Group leads the leasing team along with The Volk Company as co-listing agents. These two groups have been a very big part of the success of this project.
