Kingman, Arizona – 99 Cent Only will kick-off the new tenant line-up at Kingman Crossing in Kingman, Arizona with a 17,136 square foot store. They’ve inked the first lease in the 82,000 square foot center with negotiations winding down on the rest of the remaining occupancy. The property, which is being jointly developed by Accelerated Development Services and Wadsworth Development, is undergoing a complete redevelopment and update, transforming from a tired neighborhood grocery location turned call-center into a vibrant and relevant property.
The property, which is located at the southeast corner of Interstate 40 and Stockton Hill road, is absolute ground zero for this regional town. Dave Cheatham, Managing Principal with Accelerated Development Services commented on the deal, “We are pleased to have this national value-oriented retailer lead the way for our project. We knew this property had potential and it’s been great to see the retailers respond to our vision.” The shopping center is located at the main and main retail hub with the regional hospital located on the northwest corner of the same intersection. The hospital has driven hotel demand in the market and with several hotel brands expressing interest in the site the owners are redeveloping the north end of the parcel to include a parcel that can accommodate a hotel.
When the project is complete, it will have new store fronts, new paving, a huge freeway sign, new landscaping and a fresh new look. Michael Clark, Vice President with Velocity Retail Group is managing the leasing and had this to add, “In a very short time, national retailers have shown significant interest and we have more demand than we have space to lease.” With Safeway, JC Penney, Wal-Mart, Ross, Petco, Staples and other retailers in the intersection, this property will soon to be vibrant again.
“We are working with several quality potential tenants that will bring much needed retail goods and services to the Kingman regional trade area,” added Cheatham. “In the very near future we will be making additional announcements on these exciting new tenants to our shopping center.”
