Residents of Albuquerque will soon be able to shop at a new 88,000 square foot home decor store at Market Center Crossing. At Home will be located at the northeast corner of Interstate 40 and Eubank Avenue. The first 20 customers to the new store on March 21st will receive a $200 gift card, as reported on the company’s Facebook page.
The shopping center is undergoing renovations and crews are working on the exterior remodel for the 20,000 square feet of shop space which is located between the existing Target store and At Home.
As reported in the ABQ Journal, Accelerated plotted 36 months for the center’s redevelopment, and Cheatham said the project has proceeded ahead of schedule. An initial wave of upgrades included landscaping as well as parking lot and sidewalk improvements. Now attention turns to the storefronts. Facade work gets under way this month and should take a couple of months.
“We’re still looking for good, complementary, smaller retail users (and) we’re talking to several,” said Dave Cheatham, president of Accelerated Development Services, which teamed with Q Investments to purchase the depleted center in 2013. “But the biggest thing is people have been waiting to see us start construction and get further along with the major tenant (At Home). Instead of us talking about it, they wanted to see (that). There’s been so much talk over the last six or seven years on this with no action. … Now that’s occurring.”
